The following are the list of available programmes on offer. Feel free to navigate the available programmes to guide yours choices

These are foundation programmes for individuals entering the Nursing profession.

  1. Basic Nursing Programme (3 Years): Leads to the award of Registered Nurse (RN)
  2. Basic Nursing Programme (3 Years): Leads to the award of Registered Nurse (RN)
  3. Post Basic Midwifery (18 months): For RN holders to become Midwives.

  4. Community Midwifery Programme: Focused on training midwives for rural practice.

  5. Community Nursing Programme: Aimed at providing basic nursing care in rural communities.

Our College of Nursing have met certain standards and can be affiliated with universities to run degree programmes:

– Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc.): Usually in affiliation with a university, leading to professional licensure plus an academic degree.

These are programmes for registered nurses who want to specialise in any of the listed programmes. The duration of these programmes  is usually between 12-18 months

  • Post-Basic Paediatric Nursing
  • Post-Basic Perioperative Nursing
  • Post-Basic Accident and Emergency Nursing
  • Post-Basic Intensive Care Nursing
  • Post-Basic Psychiatric Nursing
  • Post-Basic Public Health Nursing
  • Post-Basic Occupational Health Nursing
  • Post-Basic Ophthalmic Nursing
  • Post-Basic Orthopaedic Nursing
  • Post-Basic Anaesthetic Nursing
  • Post-Basic Burns & Plastic Nursing

These are other progrmmes on offer with the approval of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the relevant Ministries.

  • Refresher Programmes for nurses whose licenses have lapsed.

  • Training of Nurse Educators and Administrators (often offered in universities but some colleges may develop capacity over time).

    Note: Each programme requires separate application and approval by the NMCN. Regular monitoring and reaccreditation are essential.
